Zoom gaarder (athens 2010) © alp klanten i have a confession to make. as a kid i rather liked the book “sophie’s world” from jostein gaarder. a bestseller at that time. one thread i do remember from the story involves sophie getting narrated the doings of plato and socrates by the mysterious teacher on the acropolis. when i went there a few weeks ago i was lucky and ascended to the parthenon while the weather was momentarily cloudy. as a consequence even the midday light did not spoil the photos that i took. it wasn’t even very crowded, maybe due to the general strike in athens at that time.
